Holiday Gift Guide for Coffee Lovers (Under $50)

gifts under $50

Need a gift for that coffee nerd in your life? We’ve compiled a few of our favorite products into three gift guides. Our first is a series of gift ideas that will cost you less than $50 (including tax and shipping)!

hario v60 Drip coffee decanter ($30)

It’s no secret that our favorite pour over device is the Fellow’s XF Dripper (don’t worry -- it will be on the next gift guide), but with a $64 price tag for the dripper and $42 for the carafe, the V60 decanter is a great low cost option that can still make outstanding coffee!

Hario’s dripper design is time tested, barista-beloved, and fairly easy to use. The decanter’s heat resistant borosilicate glass makes it safe and sturdy for brewing.

Fellow Atmos Vacuum Canister ($35)

Fellow’s Atmos is a vacuum sealer made just for your coffee. By twisting the lid, you’re able to suck out oxygen from inside the container, preventing the oxidation that can make coffee taste stale.

This is extremely helpful when storing your whole bean coffee more than two weeks after its roast date but a total game changer if you’re storing preground coffee. If you wish you could buy a grinder but aren’t ready to spend hundreds on getting a good one, the Atmos is our recommended solution. Check out this blog post for more info about that.

And they can use our Bring Your Own Atmos program to refill their whole bean coffee here at the shop and receive a $3 discount!

The AeroPress Coffee Maker ($35)

The AeroPress is a versatile single cup brewer that combines some of the best parts of pour over, immersion, and manual pressure brewers to give you lots of control over how you brew.

You can create a perfect cup of coffee in as little as one minute. It also has inspired some coffee professionals to get really into recipe development. For some examples, here is our recipe. Or check out the recipes used at the World Aeropress Championship.

James Hoffmann’s The World Atlas of Coffee (~$32)

One of our coffee heroes, James Hoffmann, who we wrote about earlier this year, has released the second edition of his World Atlas of Coffee, a textbook (though not a dry one) that we love and use constantly in our training here at Clarity.

In the first half, it will take its reader through the coffee journey from seed to cup. Then in the second half, it highlights each country of origin, giving insights on what makes each country unique.

Pretty much anything from The Department of Brewology (price varies)

Department of Brewology features original artwork presented in a lot of different ways. You can have prints, pins, t-shirts, and more. Some of it is beautiful like this floral “Filter Coffee Not People” print and some of it is silly like this Jurassic Park meets Clever Coffee Dripper pin.

Coffee! (Usually $17-24)

You could always go for what every home barista needs: fresh coffee! We recommend planning your purchase as close to giving the gift as possible -- bearing in mind your shipping time if ordering online. Freshness is key when it comes to specialty coffee!

Not sure where to get a really great, fresh roasted coffee? We’ve got lots of suggestions! Of course, we have our coffee, roasted in the shop, but if you want to branch out, you could try one of our other favorite coffee roasters: Archetype, Blueprint, Heart, Ritual, or Tweed.

If you’d like to learn more about any of those roasters, check out our blog posts about each one: Archetype, Blueprint, Heart, Ritual, Tweed

CLARITY Coffee MUG ($25)

You’ll need the perfect mug to put that freshly brewed coffee into! We love these mugs from notNeutral. They’re dishwasher and microwave safe and have the perfect handle to comfortable sip your morning coffee. Customized with Clarity and our exploding hexagon pattern, these come in both matte black and glossy blue.

clarity coffee gift card ($5-$5000)

Last, but not least, is a classic “can’t decide what to get” gift. The gift card! Available in any amount from $5 and up. Get this for a gift that keeps giving throughout the year. Available as a physical card in the shop and as a digital e-gift card online.
