With the hot and humid Oklahoma City Summer, we decided our Summer Drink Special should be something nice and chilly! 

With a little help from Wilbur Curtis’ new Chill X, we’re pleased to present our vision of a coffee slush: the Clarity Cool Down!

Coffee Slush?

Yes. The Clarity Cool Down is a Cold Brew Slush made with Brown Sugar and Minor Figures Oat M*lk! Using cold brew concentrate, the Cool Down has about as much caffeine as any of our regular coffee drinks, and since we’re using Oat M*lk, it’s also vegan!

But Seriously, A Coffee Slush?

Specialty Coffee sometimes gets a bad rap for being too serious about how coffee should be prepared and gets to decide what “is” and “is not” Specialty Coffee. We’re not really about that.

Specialty Coffee is about care. The care farmers and producers show when planting, harvesting, and processing coffee cherries and the care roasters and baristas show in preparing the coffee for service. While Specialty Coffee refers to a level of coffee quality scored at the farm or mill, specialty coffee is about preparing and showcasing great coffees, and we think our Clarity Cool Down does just that.

Drink Special: Spring Americano by Caleb Savage

It’s Spring time in Oklahoma City! Main Street is turning green, meetings beginning at the shop are headed to the Myriad Gardens or Centennial Park, Bradford Pears are bringing the masses to their knees.

Honey Lavender Lattes have become a Spring favorite and will stay on the bar all month long. #SecretMenu tip: add Honey Lavender to an Espresso Cream Soda for an afternoon treat!

SPRING AMERICANO

Americanos are a staple for most people, but once the weather starts heating up, they start to fall out of favor. Iced americanos are great and they’re available every day in the cafe, but for our April drink special, we decided to put all of the best qualities of espresso and turn it into a drink!

Our Spring Americano is a sparkling iced americano made with a lemon and brown sugar syrup and topped with fresh mint! This drink accentuates what we love about great espresso: bright acidity, delicate florals, and a deep and rich sweetness! Mixed with sparkling water, this drink creates a foamy and refreshing Springtime treat!

This special will be available all month long so stop in on a sunny afternoon and give it a try!

This Fall weather had us so excited for the next few months we launched our #PSL on the first day of Fall! We wrote about the Spice Islands and their impact in our favorite Fall Special here!

INTRODUCING THE FIG THYME LATTE

We said goodbye to Maple Rosemary and now it’s time for the Fig Thyme Latte! Fans of the Maple Rosemary Latte will enjoy the balance of savory and sweet in our November drink special as the sweet fruitiness of Fig pairs will with the subtle and warm thyme flavor.

Carrot Cake Latte by Steve Willingham

A new month means new specials! While we're sad to see the Lemon Chili Mocha is gone, it's exciting to have new things. And don't worry; the Honey Lavender Latte hasn't gone anywhere!

This month, alongside the Honey Lavender, we're featuring a series of Sparkling Tea Lemonades. Traditionally a blend of black tea and lemonade, our series starts there and branches out to include our Cold Brew Lemonade and a Rooibos Tea Lemonade. They're all made with Alta Palla's sparkling lemonade, and they're so refreshing!

And the star of this month's Specials board is the Carrot Cake Latte. This is Tanner's latest invention - look out for lots of Tanner inventions over the next month...

The Carrot Cake Latte starts with juicing fresh carrots and using the juice to make a brown sugar simple syrup. We then spice it with ginger, almond and vanilla extract, and a variety of baking spices. It gives it that cake flavor and an increasing carrot presence as you drink it down.

This is one we're really proud of. Can't wait to hear what everyone thinks of it! Let us know!
